Privacy Policy

Plain language, no legalese. This page explains what this website collects, what it does not, and what happens to anything you send.

This website does not collect your health information.

Nothing you type into this site is stored here, because there is nothing to type into. There is no form and no login. When you are ready to reach out, the buttons take you to my Psychology Today profile, or you can call or text me directly. Anything clinical belongs in a session, not on a website.

Like most websites, this one uses Google Analytics to count visits. That tells me how many people came, roughly where from, and which pages they read. It uses cookies and records a shortened version of your IP address. I use it to understand whether the site is reaching the people it is meant for. I cannot see who you are from it, and I do not sell or share it with anyone beyond Google, which processes it on my behalf.

If you would rather not be counted, you can turn it off with Google's opt-out add-on, or use your browser's private mode. Nothing about the site changes if you do.

If you reach out through my Psychology Today profile, that message is handled by Psychology Today under their privacy terms, not mine. If you call or text, I have your number. If you become a client, your clinical records are kept under HIPAA and the confidentiality rules that apply to every licensed counselor, and you will receive a full notice of privacy practices before we start.

One request: please do not send detailed health information through a website message or an ordinary text. Email and web forms are not secure. Bring it to the consult instead, where it is protected.

You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete anything that is not part of a clinical record I am required to keep. Just ask.

If anything here is unclear, ask me in the consult or by phone. I would rather explain it than have you wonder.
