Privacy Policy

Plain language, no legalese. This page explains what this website collects, what it does not, and what happens to anything you send.

This website does not collect your health information.

There is one short contact form, on the contact page. It asks for your name, how to reach you, and a line about what you are looking for. That message is emailed to me and is not stored on this website. There is no login, no client portal, and no records here. Anything clinical belongs in a session, not on a website.

Like most websites, this one uses Google Analytics to count visits. That tells me how many people came, roughly where from, and which pages they read. It uses cookies and records a shortened version of your IP address. I use it to understand whether the site is reaching the people it is meant for. I cannot see who you are from it, and I do not sell or share it with anyone beyond Google, which processes it on my behalf.

If you would rather not be counted, you can turn it off with Google's opt-out add-on, or use your browser's private mode. Nothing about the site changes if you do.

The About page shows a verification badge from Psychology Today, which confirms my license has been checked. Loading it tells Psychology Today your IP address and which page you were on. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.

If you use the contact form, your message arrives in my email inbox, which is a Google account. I keep it only as long as I need it to reply and to arrange a consultation. If you reach out through my Psychology Today profile instead, that message is handled by Psychology Today under their privacy terms, not mine. If you call, I have your number, and any voicemail you leave. If you become a client, your clinical records are kept under HIPAA and the confidentiality rules that apply to every licensed counselor, and you will receive a full notice of privacy practices before we start.

One request: please do not send detailed health information through the contact form, a website message, or an ordinary email. Email and web forms are not secure, which is why the form is deliberately short. Bring it to the consult instead, where it is protected.

You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete anything that is not part of a clinical record I am required to keep. Just ask.

If anything here is unclear, ask me in the consult or by phone. I would rather explain it than have you wonder.
